Did You Know I Used to Have a Crystal Shop?

I’ve always had a special fascination with crystals. I love their colours, shapes and textures, and the way each one feels a little different. I’m drawn to how people connect with them—holding or wearing a crystal can bring a sense of comfort, balance or intention to everyday life.

My crystal journey started with a small collection of crystals and tumble stones. I loved getting to know each one and learning more about them. Then, while I was running my holistic therapy centre at Brougham Hall near Penrith, I took on another unit and opened a little crystal shop.

That’s where I met Dido, a truly lovely and knowledgeable crystal lady. With her help, my little shop came to life—and I absolutely loved it!

After a couple of years, though, the sales weren’t quite enough to keep my supplier happy. And if I’m being honest, I wasn’t the best businesswoman: I kept giving crystals away to people I felt really needed them!

But my crystal story didn’t end there. I still have crystals around me at home and at work, and I often carry some with me. I also qualified as a crystal therapist and enjoy bringing crystals into my work.

I’ve always felt that crystals have a way of finding their people. And yes, I do think everyone needs a few… perhaps even hundreds!
