How Holistic wellness has changed my life
Learning about myself during my journey as a holistic life coach has had profound changes to how I think, behave and the choices I make every day.
It was never just an overnight change but slow meaningful authentic changes, that started with small steps.
I look at my holistic health as my emotional health, mental health, spiritual health and physical health.
How holistic life coaching and Reiki has helped my emotional health
Holistic life coaching gave me the tools to create emotional intelligence, differentiate the small stuff from the big stuff in life, live my life following my values and what brings me joy, disconnect from anything or anyone that no longer felt right in my life. The big one was deciding I was in control of how I was feeling and not allowing anything negative to creep in. I choose not to stress or worry, I choose to be happy, I choose not to allow anger in or negative feelings.
Meditations have helped me release and heal emotions, balance my chakra’s, and feel stronger emotionally.
Reiki has filled my life with love and light, gratitude, and joy, it has simplified what really matters and what doesn’t, it has kept my life simple.
How holistic life coaching and menopause therapy has helped my mental health.
We can all have those moments of feeling fed up, maybe depressed, it can be fleeting or all consuming. There can be many reasons for this, bereavement and loss, hormonal, depletion of chemicals in your brain, poor nutrition, environment, work life, children, relationship problems, financial worries.
Holistic life coaching helped me to identify what was causing me to feel this way, (I always feel better if I know a reason and that makes me feel in more control)
Bereavement has visited me a few times and so I know it is all consuming, it physically hurts, life feels sad and pointless, a black cloud follows me that is difficult to shake away, but I also know it passes, in time it gets a little less, some days you even forget about it and then you remember and feel really sad again. To me, bereavement feels like the volume button on a record player, very loud at first and slowly gets quieter, with some spikes of volumes when you remember the song again.
Hormonal fluctuations in mood, happens to most of us women, especially during our menopause transition, but once we recognise that it is our crazy fluctuating hormones, we can do something about it!
As in all I do, I like to understand and learn what is happening, so I can help myself which led me onto my journey into becoming a menopause therapist/ practitioner. The knowledge I learned completely changed my opinions on a few things, firstly I believe if we can? We all should take HRT! We honestly need our ever-decreasing hormones supplemented! Secondly, we need to do more exercise, weight resistance training, swimming, yoga, basically everything and anything that is going to increase our bone and muscle density, core strength and cardiovascular health.
Thirdly, avoid stress! This is our biggest depletion if we let it! Stress depletes our hormones as our body chooses survival over our reproduction system, it effects our digestive system creating bloating, indigestion and we do not absorb the nutritional food we feed ourselves. It effects our relationships, work and our wellbeing. So, today and everyday say to yourself I choose not to stress!
If the environment that you live in or work in does not bring you joy, change it! If the relationships you have do not bring you joy, then change them! Holistic life coaching can give you the tools and knowledge to do this, step by step, with workable, time achievable goals.
We all go through times where we become worried about financial situations, these can sometimes need some small steps to rectify quickly or maybe an honest reflection of your life to assess where some bigger changes need to be made. Holistic life coaching has taught me to look out of the box and see new opportunities and changes to help me.
Living a simple life and removing things that you once thought you could never live without, building a career that brings you joy and abundance, working together in your family as a team. Maybe getting professional financial advice could be just what you need to make some changes and assess your financial commitments.
Just remember we arrive in this world with nothing and leave the same way, it is only the emotional feelings we have created on our journey through life that we are remembered by, this is our legacy, the kindness and love we have shown.
But, if you are worried about financial problems, remember a problem shared is a problem halved, ask for help, assess your situation clearly and honestly and it will pass!
We are what we eat, so if we eat pizza all the time, we become a pizza! If we eat processed not nutritional food all the time, the cells in our body become depleted, our brain becomes depleted, our skin becomes depleted, get the idea?
So, it’s simple, eat nutritional food that is going to feed the cells in your body, this will help create a vibrant wellbeing, thinking power, energy, and good moods. Relax and do not stress so all your nutritional food can be used and stored
Spiritual health for me is the beliefs that I have, that bring understanding, love, and joy into my life.
I have always believed in something bigger than me, an energy that is vibrant and ever expanding, filled with knowledge, understanding, love and healing. I am still learning and growing in my spiritual health, I want to enjoy exploring and reading, listening and experiencing my spiritual connection and beliefs for the rest of my life’s journey.
Reiki has been an amazing learning experience so far spiritually and in many other ways too, and I am looking forwards to learning about the Holy Fire Reiki next month, three days of delving into something completely new!
In holistic life coaching we learn about the importance of Physical wellbeing and that became a layered knowledge of understanding when I learned about the menopause.
I have practiced yoga most days for over 8 years and love how it makes me feel, I walked everyday (until I lost my dog last year, but our new puppy comes next month, and I can start again, it just never felt right walking without Barney) and for the last two years I have gone to the gym and swim for a minimum of three times a week. This is still probably not enough, but I do what I love and enjoy without it actually feeling like exercise or a chore!
I want to feel strong and fit; my work is physical with lots of massage, and all the other things I do for my physical wellbeing fit around it.
But I will still need to increase my exercise to fight the many signs of ageing and will enjoy it, when time and life creates a bigger window.
