Fatigue and Tiredness
A day in the life as a holistic therapist.
We can all struggle with a moment or even days of feeling tired and fatigued, our clients and friends do too!
So, we can help ourselves and others with a little understanding and holistic wisdom.
Fatigue, tiredness can hit us when we have overdone things, our immune system is a bit low or maybe our hormones are depleted or going crazy.
When I feel depleted, I focus on myself for a little while with self-care, it isn’t selfish! I just remember that I matter too! We need to fill our cup before filling others.
I boost my supplement intake of vitamin B, Iron, happy hormone supplements and testosterone (it does make a difference).
Book in a couch day and watch Net flix with Georgia, have a few early nights, snuggled up with a good book or listen to a meditation.
Self-Reiki always works, a few crystals in my bra, even a Hopi candle therapy.
This is definitely a time to choose not to stress, only say yes to things that bring me joy, avoid the time thieves and energy demons.
As holistic therapists we can offer many different therapies to help our clients, holistic massage, Reiki, Crystal therapy, Reflexology, Indian head massage, Indian face massage and Hopi candle. To relax, recharge and rebalance energies can really help overcome the heavy feeling of fatigue and tiredness.
If you are between the ages of 35 years old to 55 years old and struggle with tiredness and fatigue, you need to read this:
During the menopause we can feel an abrupt loss of energy physically, emotionally, and psychologically, our mood can feel low, concentrating is difficult, sleep is disturbed with hot flushes, night sweats and even insomnia.
Fatigue can be caused by a decrease in hormone levels.
· Oestrogen and testosterone fluctuate which can change the way your brain functions.
· Falling oestrogen levels are also linked to an increase in cortisol which can also increase fatigue.
· Psychological factors can also cause fatigue, and these include depression anxiety and mood swings.
· Falling hormone levels can also be due to the life and work stresses (this can occur around the same time as the menopause.)
· As a woman’s hormone levels fluctuate dramatically it can cause the brain to wake up at all hours of the night.
· As a woman’s hormones fluctuate dramatically it can cause the brain to wake up at all hours of the night.
· Lower levels of progesterone can make some women feel short tempered and less able to relax.
· Physical symptoms of the menopause can interfere with sleep and deep tiredness, and these can include night sweats getting up in the night to pass urine and joint pains.
Tiredness is not necessarily all related to the menopause it or can also be a symptom of several medical conditions including.
· Low thyroid function.
· Nutritional deficiencies.
· Low B12 and folic acid.
· Low iron and anaemia.
Getting in touch with your doctor or hormone specialist, having your blood checked, looking into HRT and Testosterone, resting and choosing not to stress, could be your new beginning to feeling like yourself again.
